Running and walking are very popular ways to stay fit in Portland. Joining a local running group is a great way to get involved.

Portland Fit
If you’re ready to get in shape for a race (including the Portland Marathon), you can join Portland Fit’s training program. It’s open to runners and walkers of all levels.

Portland Front Runners
Portland’s running club for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and those who support them—they hold weekly runs and special events, too.

Team Oregon
Train for the Portland Marathon with Team Oregon. Get expert running advice and a personalized training schedule from experienced coaches.

Women Walk the Marathon
Contrary to their name, this is a co-ed training program for those who would like to walk the Portland Marathon. No experience necessary to join.

Oregon Road Runners Club
The mission of this non-profit organization is to “promote running, walking, and competitive events for the benefit of all--for fitness, fun, safety, health, and quality of life.
