Coming to stay in the City of Roses? If you stay at one of the hotels in downtown Portand, you'll be able to walk to shops, museums, restaurants and attractions. Plus, you can easily access public transportation so you can visit some of the city's best neighborhoods. See which hotels are worth checking out.

1. Hotel DeLuxe

Where:729 SW 15th Avenue. Because the location isn't right smack in the center of downtown, it's a bit quieter than some of the other hotels, which is a plus. And, you can hop on the MAX to go anywhere you need to go.

What: Hotel DeLuxe is a hotel with a unique theme: old Hollywood glamour. But you don't have to be a film buff to enjoy staying here. The interior is gorgeous, the rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the hotel's bar, the Driftwood Room, is not to be missed.

2. The Nines

Where: 525 SW Morrison. This is the center of downtown Portland. That said, if you're sensitive to noise, this may not be the best place to stay. What: Opened in 2008, this hotel shares its building with Macy's. It's known for luxury and for its rooftop restaurant.

Where: 1001 SW Broadway What: This is an old-school Portland hotel, and it has a refined luxury that visitors and locals alike adore. The restaurant is well-known and much better than a typical hotel restaurant. Don't be surprised if you see famous musicians hanging out at the bar at the Heathman. The hotel is connected to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and the performers often stay here.
