St Patrick's Day 2013 Events

All the Best Happenings for 2013 St. Patrick's Day in Portland

Updated March 01, 2013

Historically, St. Patrick's Day was a time to celebrate Catholicism's arrival in Ireland. Over the years it morphed into a more secular celebration of Irish culture and heritage.

Nowadays, the holiday is more about wearing green, leprechauns and beer to excess. Well, Portlanders excel at costumes and finding excuses to celebrate, and there's typically an appropriately-themed pub crawl and fun run tied in. St. Patrick's Day is clearly no exception.

Here are some of the event highlights for Portland, both on and surrounding St. Patrick's Day. Read the full March 2013 Portland Events Calendar for more on what's happening this month.
