The Portland International Film Festival, now in its 31st year, is a showcase of films you might not otherwise see. Throughout the festival, films from around the world will be screened at various venues around town. This year, the categories of films are:

At the end of the festival, you'll have the opportunity to vote for your favorite films at OregonLive. There will be awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Documentary, Best Short, the New Directors Awards and others.

Opening Night Party:
Enjoy a screening of the Israeli film, The Band's Visit, followed by drinks, Middle Eastern fare and live music by The Brothers of the Baladi.
Tickets for film + party: $30 General, $25 Film Center Friends and Portland Art Museum Members. Avialable person at the PIFF box office, 1119 SW Park, 12 - 6 p.m. daily from Jan. 30th, at the PCPA box office at 1111 SW Broadway, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday, by phone at (503) 276-4310 and online after January 30th. Tickets will also be available at the door on February 7th.
Closing Night Event:
After the last screenings on Saturday, February 23, celebrate the festival and compare notes with your fellow festival-goers. Its happening at Tondero, 835 SW Park Ave., in the Fox Tower. Admission is $10 and includes food and drink.
