Outdoor Movies in Portland's Parks

Free Flicks All Over Portland

From , former About.com Guide

This summer, Portland Parks and Recreation presents Big Screen on the Green, a series of films shown in the city's neighborhood parks.

Jeff Milkes, Southeast Services Manager, created the event to bring Portlanders together for a great summer activity in the city’s beautiful (and plentiful) neighborhood parks.

“I believe this is the definitive community activity, and I liked that we can offer something in the parks that is both free and an extremely positive use of the park,” says Milkes. “The screen is 268 square feet and the projection and sound system are exceptional.”

Weather permitting, movies will begin at dusk (between 8 and 8:45 p.m.). A rainout will be called by 5 p.m. and will be posted at the park. Get there early. Pre-flick entertainment starts at 6:30 p.m.
