Late Night Eats

From Nancy Levenson, About.com GuideDecember 8, 2008

When I first landed in Portland in the mid-90's, the hot spot for late-night dining was Montage. Since then, the bar and restaurant scene in Portland has exploded, and there are more (and better) options for getting decent food after say, 9 p.m. Nothing against Montage—it's still a fun place.

Here's where you come in: What bars and restaurants would you put on your Top 5 list for late-night eats? It could be a hidden neighborhood gem, a cart in downtown Portland, or an upscale place with a late-night happy hour menu. I'm open to all of 'em. Please send me your suggestions via e-mail at portlandor.guide@about.com, or write them in the comments field below and I'll compile them. Thanks!

The cart pod at SE 12th and Hawthorne has become quite the late night spot with Potato Champion, Yarp, Brown Bunny, Q Barbecue, and others. Most are open till 3am (Portlandfood.org has a nice thread on the whole cart pod).

Roxy on SW Stark is definitely the “Queen” of late nite munchies.

Yarp?! is open Sunday nights until 3:00 AM or until we run out of food to cook, whichever comes first.
