Amazing Race Ends in Portland

From Nancy Levenson, About.com Guide   December 8, 2008

Imagine this: You've just hiked through Washington Park up to Pittock Mansion. When you arrive, there are film crews, crowds of people, and a giant "finish line" for the popular TV show, Amazing Race.

Yes, our fine city was the last pit stop in this season of reality TV's Amazing Race, where contestants "race around the world" for a million dollar prize. The three final teams flew to Oregon, where they performed several challenges including an exhilarating zipline ride across the Bridge of the Gods. They also spent some time running around downtown, visiting the food carts on SW Alder Street as well as our beloved Voodoo Doughnuts.

In case you still want to watch it, I won't reveal the winners. You can find more information about the Portland finale of the Amazing Race at the CBS website.

It was pretty cool seeing my beloved city and state as the final pit stop of my favorite reality show. I just wish Cat Daddy was there to hand them a voodoo doughnut along with their clue!
