The Candidates at Your Door

Sunday May 4, 2008
As soon as I heard about the "Do Not Call" and "Do Not Mail" lists, I signed up for them and told everyone I know about them. I not only love the lack of uninvited junk mail, but the lack of uninvited calls is even more of a relief.

However, as a resident of SE Portland who's often home working, I still get plenty of uninvited visitors knocking at my front door. People who want me to join their church. People who want me to donate to their school's sports programs. And of course, the local candidates for the upcoming elections. I understand why they're pounding the pavement, and I appreciate the importance of their potential positions, but I prefer to not be disturbed at home, while I'm busy working. I'm curious: How do you feel about the candidates knocking at your door?
